A lesson for a bike lover.

Once a son, who just turned eighteen, asked his father that he wishes to purchase a new bike. The father replied him to carry on. The son reluctantly asked for the money to which the father replied, "I can not give you the money but I can guide you how to get the money". On further request the father explained, "you can save 50 Rupees everyday from your pocket money for the bike, and the day you are not able to I will help you". The son began to save the money and soon after saving his pocket money for few months he was able to gather the amount needed to purchase the bike he was dreaming about. With his father's permission he excitedly left to buy a new one. To his father's joy, the son returned back with a decent quality second hand bike instead of a new one and saved more than half of his collections.

What made him do that? Few months back, he was highly passionate about purchasing a new one!

The reason was that he learned the virtues like forbearance and responsibility by the act of saving. It's not how many desires of our children we fulfill make them happy. It's how we are able to deliver such qualities to them by being a coach in their life.

To summarize:

Life is precious, handle with care,
Demands are infinite, needs are rare,
Be, not a teacher, but a coach to your dear ones,
Create challenges, and whenever needed be there.
